BuddySIM is a young German eSIM provider based in Swisttal (North Rhine-Westphalia) that focuses on ease of use and German-language support — including a real phone hotline and WhatsApp chat. That makes it one of the few options for travellers who want to be able to reach their provider in German if something goes wrong on the road. Coverage spans 190+ countries, and unlike Holafly's unlimited plans (which throttle hotspot to 1 GB per day), every BuddySIM tariff allows hotspot and tethering without throttling. There are typically six volume tiers per country (1 GB to 50 GB) plus regional packages for Europe, Africa, Asia and the Americas, as well as global eSIMs. Pricing sits in the upper mid-range — cheaper than Holafly, but more expensive than Saily or Airalo.

Didn't work and no support.

At first the activation of the eSIM worked and it also detected mobile data networks, but it was not possible to actually connect with these networks all the time. The 4G-Symbol was grey and the R-Symbol was white. I tried a lot with the settings but it didn't work. Waste of time and money. No answer from support. Will avoid it in the future.

I got scamed.

I bought a 2 GB option. After 80 % were gone, i got a message with a link on my phone, to upgrade this. I did it and bought 10 GB. Tha WhatsApp Bot said, after the first package (2 GB ) are used, the new 10 will upgraded automatically. I startet the buy process with the message i got. Now i dont have any mobiledata and the service only repeats the answers of the chatbot, without helping me because he didnt get the problem. I already told him like 5 times and he still repeats the bot. By the way the live chat support takes 10 min each message . It was the first time and never again with BuddyS
