Who's behind esim-urlaub.de?
Hi, I'm Jewgenij — founder. Since 2013 I've been running simdealz.de, a price-comparison platform for German mobile contracts. I know the German tariff landscape inside out by now.
But the moment I travelled outside the EU, I hit the same wall as everyone else: roaming wasn't affordable, local nano-SIMs at airport kiosks were hit-or-miss, and registration turned into a bureaucratic adventure. Since around 2018 there has been an elegant solution — eSIMs you book at home and activate on arrival. The catch: barely anyone really knows their way around them.
The goal of esim-urlaub.de: a site that tells you in 60 seconds which eSIM fits your destination — no marketing fluff, no hidden catches. Same DNA as simdealz, just for travel eSIMs.

esim-urlaub.de is completely free for you. We fund ourselves through affiliate links with providers like Airalo, Holafly, Simbye, Nomad, Saily and Ubigi. If you book through one of our links, we get a small commission — at no extra cost to you.
What that means for you: we have a vested interest in you finding the right plan. Unhappy users don't come back. Wrong recommendations cost us more long-term than they bring short-term. That's why you'll occasionally find an honest "not worth it" sitting next to a deal here.
Your data belongs to you
We don't collect any personal data without your active consent. One exception: an anonymous session cookie so the site works — and, with contact-form submissions, of course your message + email.

Four principles that steer our recommendations.
€ per GB, not the list price
"Just €4.99 for 1 GB" sounds great — it's €5/GB. We show the real price per gigabyte so you can compare plans fairly.
Up-to-date plans
Our scraper checks providers daily. Expired deals are removed, new plans land in the system promptly.
Independent & transparent
We don't recommend whoever pays the highest commission. We recommend whoever's the best fit for your use case.
Honest assessment
Does a plan have catches (fair-use throttle, no hotspot, China restrictions)? Then we'll say so — before the purchase click, not after.
