More relevant in practice: the App Store and Trustpilot ratings are public, have been running for years, and are based on tens of thousands of genuine user experiences — with a Trustpilot score of 4.0 from over 34,000 reviews, a fraud allegation would be hard to sustain. On payment methods, Airalo supports credit card, PayPal, and Apple Pay/Google Pay — standard methods with the usual buyer protections. Billing runs in US dollars, so an unfavorable exchange rate can slightly shift the final price; German VAT is not itemized separately on invoices, which can be a downside for business travelers claiming input tax. On data protection: Airalo processes account and payment data like any international app provider — GDPR applies for EU customers, but if you're privacy-conscious it's still worth a quick look at the app's privacy policy before signing up with account details.

How Airalo works in practice

The process is deliberately kept simple. You download the app (iOS/Android) or buy directly on the website, pick your destination country or a regional/global package, and check out with a credit card, PayPal, or Apple/Google Pay. You then get a QR code, which you either scan or — on compatible iPhones — install directly from the app using Quick Transfer, without a camera at all.
